Property and liability insurance

Protect what you have built up over time

Your home, its contents, your car and your financial reserve are built up over time. A fire, a road accident or damage caused to someone else can affect them in an instant.

We will help you set up insurance that matches your property, your way of life and the situations that could put a serious strain on your budget. Through regular reviews and updates, we then make sure it still makes sense in the years to come.

Having a policy is not enough

“I’m insured.” But does it match what you need today?

The premium gets paid every year and you no longer give the policy much thought. In the meantime, though, you have renovated your house, bought new furnishings, changed jobs or started travelling more often.

Unfortunately, some shortcomings only come to light when you actually need to use your insurance:

  • Your house is insured for an amount that would not be enough to rebuild it today.

  • You have buildings insurance, but your home contents have been left out.

  • A lower limit applies to a specific type of damage than you expected from the total sum insured.

  • You have liability cover for everyday life, but the damage happened at work.

  • Your travel insurance does not match the length of your stay, or the risky activities or sports you plan on holiday.

So it is not just a question of whether you are insured. What matters is knowing what your insurance covers, up to what amount and under what conditions.

Underinsurance

The value on your policy can fall behind reality

How underinsurance arises

Cost of restoring your property today

Underinsurance

The payout may then be reduced proportionally – even for a loss below the sum insured.

As the prices of construction work, materials and furnishings rise, so does the amount needed to restore your property. A policy that was set up correctly when you took it out may therefore no longer be sufficient years later for this reason alone.

If the sum insured is lower than the insurable value of the property, what is known as underinsurance can arise. Depending on the policy terms, the insurer may then reduce the payout proportionally – even for a loss that does not reach the agreed sum insured. You could be left to cover hundreds of thousands or even millions of crowns yourself.

For a family house, we generally do not start from the price you could sell it for, but from the cost of rebuilding it. For home contents, we look at how much it would cost to replace everything.

That is why we check whether the sums insured reflect today’s values and whether the policy also takes account of renovations, extensions or newly acquired property.

What we cover together

Protection at home, on the road, at work and when travelling

Home and contents

Buildings insurance and contents insurance complement each other. One does not automatically replace the other.

We look at your house, flat or holiday property and everything that belongs to it. We take into account, for example, outbuildings, solar panels, a heat pump or more valuable furnishings. Besides fire, water damage, other natural hazards and theft, we also check the specific limits, security requirements and the assistance available.

For a flat, we also take into account any insurance arranged through the owners’ association (SVJ), so that it is clear what your own policy builds on and to what extent the association’s cover can be relied on in your situation.

Cars and other vehicles

Compulsory motor third-party liability insurance covers harm your vehicle causes to others. Protection for your own car needs to be assessed separately.

Together we will consider comprehensive cover, windscreen cover, theft, damage from natural hazards and animal-related risks. We tailor the set-up to the value of the vehicle, how you use it and how much of any loss you could pay yourself.

We also pay attention to assistance. After a breakdown or an accident, what can matter is not just paying for the repair, but also towing, a replacement vehicle or help abroad.

Liability in everyday life and as a property owner

A flooded neighbour, a cycling accident or damage caused by your dog. The consequences of a moment’s carelessness need not affect only your own property.

We check who the policy covers, where it applies and which situations it extends to. We take into account your family’s everyday life as well as the liability that comes with owning or letting property.

We do not judge the limit only by the price of a broken item. Harm to someone’s physical or mental health can have a far greater financial impact.

Employee’s liability towards the employer

Damaged work equipment, a mistake when handling goods or an accident in a company car. Damage can also happen at work, and your employer may ask you to pay for it.

Standard personal liability insurance usually does not cover these situations. That is why we start from your actual job, your income and the things you work with. We take a separate look at driving, operating machinery, the excess and any exclusions that may be relevant to your profession.

Travel insurance

A long weekend away, a family holiday by the sea and diving abroad all call for different insurance cover.

We set up the insurance according to your destination, the length of your stay and your planned activities. Besides medical expenses and assistance, we also consider liability, luggage and trip cancellation.

If you rely on insurance that comes with your payment card or on an annual policy, we check whether its scope fits the particular trip.

Regular reviews and updates

Our work does not end when the policy is signed

Each year on the policy anniversary, you may receive a notice of a higher premium or adjusted sums insured. But paying more does not in itself mean that the insurance fits your needs any better.

That is why we review your policies regularly and update them as needed. We look not only at how much you pay, but above all at what you are paying for – whether the sums insured, the scope of cover, the limits and the excesses are right.

If the insurer announces a price increase, we assess whether the new terms still make sense or whether it is worth looking at other options on the market. Price matters, but any saving should not mean losing protection you really need.

Automatic increases in sums insured can help keep pace with rising prices. But they do not replace a check of your specific policy and may not on their own reflect a renovation, new furnishings or a change in how the property is used.

Our aim is not to switch insurer every year. We want your insurance to match your life in the long term and you to pay a fair price for the protection you need.

How we work

First we get to know your risks, then we choose the insurance

We do not start by asking which insurer you want to be with. First we need to know what you own, how you live and which potential costs would be a real problem for you.

  1. We map out what you need to protect

We go through your property, its value and how it is used. We take into account the members of your household, your work, your travel and what your financial reserve can cover.

  2. We review your current policies

We check the sums insured, scope of cover, limits, excesses and important exclusions. We point out gaps as well as any unnecessary overlaps.

  3. We explain the options and recommend changes

We compare not just the price, but above all what you get for it. If your current set-up makes sense, there is no reason to change it just for the sake of a new policy.

  4. We keep looking after your insurance

We come back to your set-up regularly, assess changes in the terms and recommend the updates you need. When you tell us about a renovation, a new car or a change of job, we reflect these changes in your insurance too.

The aim is not to insure every little thing. We want you to know which losses you can cover from your own reserve and for which it makes sense to pass the financial risk on to an insurer.

When did someone last really go through your insurance?

If the main thing that changes each year is the amount you pay, it is time to look at the policy itself.

You do not need to read through all the terms yourself or know in advance what needs changing. We review your current set-up and explain what works well and where a loss could catch you out.

With regular reviews, we then help keep your insurance up to date in the years ahead.
